BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- Fire investigators continue to search for the cause of a blaze on
Birmingham's Southside that left three people dead and one seriously injured.

The fourth victim remains hospitalized in serious, but stable condition
Wednesday evening.

Flames could be seen for miles from the fire as firefighters fought against
the wind to put it out Monday night. The fire occurred in a vacant building on
20th Street and 9th Avenue South.

Tuesday, fire crews recovered the bodies of three male victims. They have
not yet been identified and officials fear it may take time to do so because
the men are believed to be homeless.
